In Flora’s Art Room, every Experience (about 1.5/2 hours long) is shaped around a theme, and includes three parts: one INTRO with a creative warm-up activity involving Flora’s adventures, one part of ART APPRECIATION, and one part of ART MAKING. (Read more about it in the previous blog post).
Today's theme is SEASONS.
1. INTRO.
What's your favorite season? Why do you like it? Sketch a scene!
2. ART APPRECIATION.
Let's look at four masterpieces:
'The Rain (La Pluie)' by Claude Monet (1886-1887) - 'Wheat Field with Cypresses' by Vincent van Gogh (1889) - 'Wheatfield under Thunderclouds' by Vincent van Gogh (1890) - 'Snow at Argenteuil' by Claude Monet (1874-1875).
What are some adjectives you would use to describe each of them?
Can you guess which season they represent?
How did the artists use different painting techniques/elements of art to render the atmosphere?
3. ART MAKING.
Divide your paper into 4 columns, and draw one cloud in each section.
Create four skies or scenes to represent the four different seasons!
Beautiful!!!!!
